Scorzonera (80 days) Heavy yields of long straight roots with black skin and white flesh. Excellent addition to soups and stews and pretty ornamentals, as well. Plants are biennial and bear pretty yellow blooms the second year. Best planted in early to mid-spring for harvest during the winter, after freezing. The roots can be left in the ground all winter.
