Romneya coulteri - Perennial; This spectacular plant is native to Cailfornia and parts of Mexico. It has grey green leaves and large white blooms with a big yellow center eye. Named by its cataloguer, Thomas Coulter, for his friend, astronomer Romney Robinson. A tea made from the leaves has been used to treat inflammation, chemical burns and sunburn. Astringent and antimicrobial, it is also used to treat fungal infections and as an anti-plaque mouth rinse (though the taste is VERY unpleasant). Hardy to -10F (-23.3C) Full sun; Height: 3-4ft.
