Common Gromwell, Zi Gen Cao
Gromwell - Lithospermum officinale - Perennial - Medicinal - Small shrubby perennial with oval leaves and small white flowers hanging in racemes that dry to form tiny white confetti seeds. Pretty in dried arrangements. Ancient Europeans used gromwell for spasms and as a treatment for hysteria. The Chinese have used the herb for centuries to treat abcesses and burns. Germination is sometimes slow.  Full sun; plant height: 2-3ft.
