DIRECT TRADING / BARTER at RICH FARM GARDEN SUPPLY

We like to trade.  You do not need to preregister to trade with us.  We are an Agricultural Enterprise buying and selling and producing Farm and Garden Products, Equipment, and Supplies.  We will trade with anyone for any items that qualify under this definition.  (There are certain requirements and preparations to bring seeds, live plant material, or animals to us; see: Vendor Registration below. Everything else, - anyone can bring to trade.) 

Items including: 
Gardening tools - we handle new and used.  We also like old tools.  We are not in the antique business, but we have buyers for the old-fashioned, when functional.
Tractors and implements - again, we are not shy of the old-fashioned. (no chemical tanks or sprayers)(One of the first old tractors that we had on our sales lot was an old Oliver.  The farmer that bought it, had been by two weeks earlier and would have bought it at that time, except that he had really wanted the older metal wheels rather than the rubber tires.)
Building materials for Greenhouses, Animal shelters - including:  Lumber, Plumbing, Heating and Ventilating, etc.
Fencing - all kinds
Hardware - used in building or repairing any of the above.
Steel - material used for farm implement construction, including square tube, angle iron, pipe, sheet metal
We will trade for anything that is used on the farm or in the garden.

DURING OUR BUSY SEASONS WE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO PROCESS YOUR REQUESTS TO TRADE.
 
ORDER EARLY!
RICH FARM GARDEN WILL TRADE WITH ANYONE, BUT WE DO NOT ACCEPT SEEDS, PLANT MATERIAL, OR ANIMALS FROM UNREGISTERED VENDORS  For more information on becoming registered with Rich Farm Garden to provide seeds, plants, or animals see Vendor Registration below.  We do however offer one exception to this rule:  We have accepted seeds for unique vegetables in exchange for recognition and inclusion in our catalog of an heirloom that has been handed down to you.  This process requires time and testing, begin by sending your story in an email to us.  Thanks.

First step to requesting a barter trade is to select the items that we will provide to you in this trade from our catalog, or merchandise that you have seen in our store or on our sales lot.  Put this in an email, be sure to use our catalog number when applicable, complete descriptions, and quantities desired.
Secondly, put in your email:
A complete description of what you have to trade.  Do not attach pictures until we have asked for these.

In Store Trades
Bring a picture ID.
Make an appointment. (When we can, we will respond to your email by setting an appointment for you to bring your item in for us to see.  We may not make trades during all business hours, so if you surprise us, we may or may not be ready to trade.  Make an appointment before bringing farm machinery.)

By Mail Trades
If we can, we will make an agreement with you by email.
Goods sent to us in trade should be sent by insured mail.
If we receive goods that are significantly not as you described, we may require you to fund postage for its return.  If you are not willing to do this, do not send it.

Vendor Registration
You do not need to register to bring cash or hardware goods in trade. 
In order to register to provide seeds, plant material or animals to Rich Farm Garden, first send an email to make an appointment for a personal visit to our store. At this first meeting we will cover some of the practices, capacities, and products that you may be able to provide, and we will arrange our visit for inspection of your farm.
