This plant protects itself from animals not only by
folding up it's
leaves, but entire branches bend downward and fold toward lower stem
when disturbed. Heavy winds and rain can cause this. It
will even show sensitivity to loud yelling close to it. After a
short while, when disturbance as ceased, the plant stands up and opens
it
leaves again.
